HOPPER BOTTOM SILO  OF A LARGE VOLUME


Offering wide range of products Mysilo manufactures different model commercial hopper base silos, diameters of which varies from 4.58 to 11.0 m and capacity up to 1800 m³ . Four different hopper angles as 37°, 40°, 45° and 60° can be manufactured according to silo diameter, grain to be stored.
The angle of silos varies depending on silo diameter, intended use and be stored type of product for comfort flowing. Waste of time and Money are prevented by hopper base while unloading. Hopper bottom silos can be separated into two sections. First ones which have low capacity are named Economic Hopper Bottom Silos and others which have high capacities Commercial Hopper Bottom Silos. Due to the high capacity, specially designed strong hopper structure bears the silo loads efficiently. All design details are considered for the safe grain storage.

The quality and robustness of the walls and the roof.

For the walls and roof manufacturing a high quality zinc steel of the biggest company ArcelorMittal is used.

Sidewall stiffeners are manufactured from S350GD+Z (high strength steel with minimum zinc coating of 275 gr/m². Transition of the vertical loads (dead load, load during loading or unloading, wind and seismic loads) of silo is very easy with these specially designed stiffeners. Mysilo sidewall sheets have the most narrow corrugation in the world which is 65 mm.

Roof structure of silo is also specially designed and manufactured by using high strength steel with 450 gr/m² zinc coating. It provides an excellent sealing by fully overlapped, strong structure. Mysilo roofs are framed by 30° sturdy beams. Beside standard roof models, custom designed roofs are available which can bear the specific loads such as different snow and wind loads according to the location.

High strength hardware is another reason why Mysilo products have long-life. Accordingly; DACROMET or JS-500 coated, EN DIN 933 Grade 10,9 hardware used both on sidewall and stiffener beams. Thanks to bonded washer and strip caulking, efficiency on sealing is obtained.

The system of the roof access and inside silo access  

Safety on roof access is provided via Mysilo sidewall and roof ladders. Spacing between sidewall ladder and sidewall, embossing on the ladder rungs are specially designed for safety and not to slide. Inside ladders are also available for maintenance and the controls inside silo. Mysilo also offers circular stair and specially designed roof ladders with hand-rails and stairs optionally which are more comfortable and safe equipments.

Silo access door is offered two pieces in each silo. First is utilized to access from roof when silo is loaded, other is located on second bottom ring for entering silo when silo is empty. Thanks to the inner cover of lower access-door; opening of the door is prevented when silo is loaded and safe usage is provided.

Grilled roof vents prevent bird entrance into silo. Vent quantity may vary according to silo diameter and grain type to be stored. Seams between roof panels and vents are sealed with high strength-special materials.

Ventilation system

According to the customer needs, Mysilo can offer a right variant of the ventilation system. It consists of the air-delivery system through the floor and the deaerator system through the roof. The air-delivery system delivers air with the help of outer fans (zinked fully) through the channels in the floor of the silo. The square of the channels may vary from 15% up to 45% of the square of the floor. In some cases it’s possible to use the system with a fully ventilation floor- 100% grating floor. If the grain will be stored for a long period, especially during conversion time (autumn or spring) there is possible ingress of wet air from the lower part of the silo. It may lead to additional heating of the grain. To solve this problem the active plenum system is used, which consists of the roof fans, providing the moisture removal from the silo and a quick cooling air flow.

The temperature control in the silo

This system is one of the most important moment in grain storage. It consists of some sensors on the roof. These sensors take a temperature from the different places and levels f the silo. The data show in the computer program or on the monitor. Any grain spoiling, insufficient ventilation or air moisture ventilation lead to a temperature increase of a stored grain.

System for loading and unloading silos

The loading of the silo is made through the upper part of the cover. Also the grain can be loaded through the grain pipe or with the help of the conveyor. It’s mounted on the support structure of the catwalks, located on the roof. The grain movement direction in the silo is made with the electrical gates opening with the help of automatic or manual control. If the silo is used like a detached storage, a direct loading is possible due to movable loading auger from the grain point. The grain loading is made through the transport systems from under the silo cone. As for the rule, the chain and auger conveyors are used.

A main volume is taken by the grain natural flow during the automatic or manual opening of the lower gates. If it’s necessary the system of base cone vibroactivation may be installed.

The sensors of the upper and the lower grain level are used for the level control of loading and unloading.
